ASUP Yet To Embark On Strike, Continue With Your Normal School Activities – NAPS President Calls For Calm

Asiegbu Kingsley Chinonso, the President of the National Association Of Polytechnic Students, NAPS, in a press statement, calls for calm among polytechnics students as the Academic Staff are yet to declare their stance on strike.


Part of the statement which was made known to Students Mirror, reads; “It is obvious that everyone of us is looking forward to the declaration of strike action, by the ASUP National body, today being the 4th of May,2022. upon the expiration of their ultimatum.


Here are few things I would want us to digest;


“The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), said they’re yet to go on strike or not, according to the National ASUP Body President Dr Anderson Ezeibe


“Dr Ezeibe Further Said; we’re year to fix a date for our NEC meeting, adding that, “it is in the meeting that the committee will look into all the issues, and review the progress made so far, and then take a decision that will be of interest to the general members


“Dr Anderson further said even though government have been meeting with the leadership of the union, and even fixed the next meeting to May 9, the government has not being showing interest add seriousness as regards meeting the Union’s demands that involves Money.


“Federal government scheduled a meeting with the leadership of ASUP, and the meeting is to hold on the 9th of May,2022, in Abuja.


On this note,I want to use my good office as the global President of all Polytechnic Students, to advice our dear Students, to continue with their Normal school activities, pending when we hear from The FG/Asup again, so as to know our next line of action”
