ASUU STRIKE: PARENTS GIVE CONDITIONS TO BEG ASUU.

Parents have stated that they can only beg Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, members to end their strike if the government takes into consideration the recommendations of the various committees established to investigate the issue and issues a ruling. Parents are working under the auspices of the National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria, or NAPTAN.

The organization claimed that in order for it to know how to intervene and arbitrate between the two sides, it wants the federal government to make its offers public.

In an interview with Vanguard on Sunday, NAPTAN provided commentary through its National President, Alhaji Haruna Danjuma.

The group was responding to a report that the Minister of State for Labour, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, had advised Nigerians, particularly parents, to implore ASUU members to report to their jobs in an interview.

So, based on the statement released, the association will be expecting the Federal Government to act on what was said, and this ‘might’ lead to the end of the prolonged ASUU strike.
