OAU SCHOOL FEES: STUDENTS THREATEN SHUTDOWN, CALL FOR REVERSAL OF INCREMENT IN SCHOOL FEES

The Congress started at about 4:13pm at the students’ Union Building (Aluta Square) with the indiscriminate school fees hike her only agendum.

Straight to the agendum, the President requested for submission and pragmatic way forward on the pestering issue, and the following resolutions were made:•

That the management should make it a point of duty to reverse the increment on school fees.

That the leadership of the union with an immediate effect call for press conference to the public and generality of Great Ife Students abreast of the happenings in the University community, and the position of the students populace.

That all financial institutions, remita especially ignore and suspend any payment from OAU pending the time the Union will write to them, if otherwise, their branches in Ife and OAU campus will be shutdown.•

The congress agreed that the university management be given 5 days ultimatum to engage the Leadership of the Union after which, we hit the street and shut down the activities on campus and the entire country if the ultimatum isn’t Met.
