The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, has approved Mr. Eghe Igbinehi as the Acting Rector of the institution .
According to a statement signed by the Polytechnic’s Director, Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Olayinka Iroye, the appointment takes effect from Monday January 16, 2023, pending the approval of a substantial Rector.
Mr. Igbinehi joined the service of the Polytechnic in October 1992, and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics.
Igbinehi, who is the most senior Chief Lecturer has served the polytechnic in different capacities.
He was twice Head of Department, Mathematics and Statistics, Director School of Applied Sciences and Technology in 2006.
He also served two tenures as Deputy Rector, Academics, and was at two different times Director of Academic Planning, as well as the pioneer Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Offa chapter.
Born on April 3, 1962 in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Eghe Igbinehi bagged B.Ed in Mathematics in 1995 and M.Sc in Mathematics in 1989 from the University of Lagos.
