The Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students (PANS), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto chapter has on Friday, 20th May organised a profession awareness campaign program for students at the school of matriculation studies of the university.
The program is aimed at enlightening the pre-degree students on the beauty of the pharmacy profession, the need to study and venture into the profession and as well how to leverage the skills acquired after studying pharmacy at the university.
The event which was held at the ETF Lecture Hall, City Campus had in attendance three speakers: Pharm. Anas Ruggah Haruna, Pharm. Stanley Chinedu Ofoegbu and Pharm. M.M Aminu.
Gearing up the campaign, Pharm. Anas Ruggah Haruna revealed to the students who is a Pharmacist, what he engages in and his role in ensuring steady healthcare delivery in the country.
Pharm. Stanley Chinedu Ofoegbu and Pharmacist M.M Aminu on their own enlightened the audience on the aspects of pharmaceutical practice and the need for students to study Pharmacy respectively.
Further speaking on the profession, the president of Sokoto State Student, Mansur Issah, said there are many benefits attached to the profession.
” A pharmacist can be self-employed, have a good stable career, and be an integral part of the community with a steady stream of income.”
